The game will mostly consist around the completion of quests

Main Quest

Main quests will be what drives the story forward. Completing them will be how the heroes gain level. The reward for Main quest is in the form of level and usually some type of item or ability that can only be obtained through main quests. They will come in tier levels and main quests of the next highest tier level may only be attempted after all the quests of lower tier level have been won but the order that main quests are tackled is up to the heroes.

Side quests are random drawn and are primarily used to help the hero gain treasure in the forms of items or coins. They do not have to be beaten to progress the story but are a good way to build up. 

Let’s go through various parts of the game mechanics

The Hero- Yirrisang the mage.

The monster- a vampire.

Progression of a quest.

Encounter

Each quest will have a number of encounters that will be engaged before the quest can be completed and may have a specific condition or boss that must be beaten as well. 

Initative

The initiative is rolled only by the heroe as a d20 +the characters base defense which is listed a D on their card.  For monsters they simple go at the D of their card without any roll. This means that Yirrisang will go at d20+2 and the vampire at 14. 

Combat

     During combat the hero player is the only one who makes rolls for attacks or defenses.

Attacks

     When a hero makes an attack they simply roll a d20 and add their base attack listed as A to it. If it beats the monsters defense or D then they a hit is scored. This means that Yirrisang would have to roll a 13 to hit the vampire. 


Defense

     When the monster attacks the then the hero rolls a d20 + their base defense or D. If the number is equal to or hirer then the monsters attack or A listed then the hero defends. In this example the hero will have to roll a 13 or better to avoid being hit. 


Dealing damage 

     When a character hits they roll the damage die listed and reduce the amount of the targets damage reduction or DR from the roll. If Yorrisang scores a hit he will roll a d6 - 0 since the vampire has a 0DR. This is how much damage is dealt. When a targets HP hits zero or less they are defeated.


Quest Completion

When an encounter is complete the hero receives either Lesser Treasure cards if the monster has LT listed or Treasure cards if they have T listed. When the vampire is defeated the hero will gain 2 treasure cards.
When a quest is beaten then the hero gains whatever rewards is listed on the quest card.
